Application Procedure

Applications are necessary for placement at the Northshore Maker’s Foundation Market. There is a ONE TIME Application Fee of $15.00. You will be charged on your first attendance at Madisonville Market. Please send in Food Liability Insurance &/or General Liability Insurance with Application Form. Completed applications will be reviewed by the NMM Foundations Board of Directors to ensure that proper product mix is maintained and that other necessary requirements are fulfilled. Prospective VSBO will be notified of approval or denial of applications in a timely manner.

Hours of Operation

On the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, barring Annual Festivals held in Madisonville or Weather, (these will be posted on NMM Foundation’s website and all Social Media pages). The Very Small Business Owner, (VSBO), is allowed to set-up during the hours between 8:00 am to 10:00 am, Summer Time selling hours are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Fall & Spring Hours are 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

Display & Set Up

All VSBO are responsible for their own tents, tables, racks, or shelves and any other display materials or signage. The City has given permission for NMMF Foundation to put up signage advertising the market, early other Sunday morning, and take down as we leave Madisonville. Any VSBO wishing to display marketing must get permission from the City of Madisonville. NMM Foundation WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE for any VSBO signage or ticketing from the City of Madisonville.

Take Down & Clean Up

VSBO are responsible for removing all their materials from the booth area and cleaning the grounds inside their booth area. Failure to completely remove all materials from the booth area at the agreed-upon time, or improperly cleaning the booth area may result in a fine or dismissal from the Madisonville Market

Space Assignment

VSBO Categories

Included in this category are farmers, fisherman, chefs, and other producers or agricultural products, including fresh fruits, nuts, and vegetables, meat and poultry, eggs, milk, cheeses, fresh-cut flowers and plants, nursery-related products. Agricultural producers may be expected to prove their production claims through on-site farm visits by Market staff or a representative.

Prepared Foods
Hot food, ready-to-eat food, jams/jellies, sauces, mixes, seasonings, canned goods, baked goods, cottage law foods.

Arts & Crafts
Included in this category are artists and craftspeople that create original crafts/works of art, (made from animal products not for consumption, health and wellness products, body care items, pet care items, and accessories) Producers of arts or crafts may also be expected to provide proof of their production claims.

Others
Included in this category are on-site artists, on-site demonstrations from artist/crafters, vintners & brewmasters

Retail VSBO
Are Not Included in NMM Foundations’ Market. No MLM or DS vendors. Local and Small Business Owners may apply as Advertisers, for approval on a case by case basis, with a maximum of 5 Small Business Owners at any given time.

Non Profit Organizations
Non Profit organizations with missions related to farming, gardening, conservation, education, youth and/or nutrition may participate in the Market. The fee for Non-profit organizations is fifteen dollars ($15.00).

Price, Weights, & Measurements

VSBO participate in the Market as independent businesses and are therefore responsible for setting their own prices. Predatory pricing strategies or intentional undercutting are not allowed and can result in dismissal from the Market. Weights and measures are expected to be in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Fee Schedule

VSBO Fees are due the day of Market, twenty dollars ($20.00) per 10′ x 10′ booth space. Please Check-in with Margaux at the “NMMF Cafe” prior to setting up. Booth placement may change without notification.

Health Regulations

All food items prepared, packaged, transported and displayed in accordance with applicable local, state and federal health guides. All food VSBO must wear gloves preparing and serving their products.

Guidelines for Food Artisan Vendors

Any food sales require that all items must follow DHH and Fire Marshall guidelines. Please provide Louisiana Food Handlers Certification and/or Serve Safe Certificate as needed by DHH. NMM Foundations requires a copy of your Louisiana Food Handlers Certification on file for food VSBO.

Sales Tax

VSBO must show state and local sales tax certificates and are responsible for collecting their own taxes and filing with the appropriate agency, in accordance with the laws of St. Tammany Parish and the State of Louisiana.

Sales Tax Breakdown:
Madisonville: 4.250%
Louisiana State: 4.450%

Liability Insurance

VSBO selling food items must provide proof of product liability in the amount of $1,000,000.00. All VSBO must provide proof of general liability insurance for their businesses. Northshore Maker’s Market Foundation must be listed as an “additional insured” on all liability insurance policies.

Suggestions, Complaints or Grievances

In the event of conflict between a VSBO and a customer or between two or more VSBO, the Market Staff, located at the Welcome Tent, should be notified immediately. It is the duty of Market Staff to resolve any minor conflicts that may arise during Market hours. Should irresolvable issues continue, VSBO or customers should notify the NMM Foundation Board of Directors using our dedicated contact form located here.

Social Media

Market VSBO who post any negative or confrontational messages on social media networks will have their Market privileges suspended for a time to be determined by NMM Foundation’s Board of Directors. This is for the protection of Madisonville Market and it’s VSBO.

Miscellaneous

No firearms or other weapons are allowed inside the Market or will be permitted for sale. No alcoholic beverages are allowed except those approved for sale; Vintners or Brewmasters.

VSBO Drop Off & Parking

All VSBO may utilize the front visitor parking while unloading their vehicles but, DO NOT block the actual entrance! Please be courteous to other VSBO needing to unload.

YOU MAY NOT BEGIN SET UP PRIOR TO PARKING YOUR CAR IN THE VSBO PARKING; NO CARS SHOULD BE LEFT IN THE FRONT PARKING SPOTS FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME!

YOU MAY NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR IN ANY OF THE PARKING SPACES IN FRONT OF THE ENTRANCE, NEAR THE ENTRANCE OR ON SIDE STREETS. ALL VSBO MUST PARK IN THE VSBO PARKING AREA NOTATED ON THE MAP.

Modifications

The Board of Directors of NMM Foundation reserves the right to revise the Policies and Procedures for the Market at any time as deemed appropriate.
